Drugs to be used in the treatment of obesity are not suitable for
mildly and moderately obese people. It is of great importance that the
safety of the drugs used be determined, that they have an effect in
accordance with the etiology that causes obesity, that they do not have
significant side effects in the short and long term, that they do not
cause addiction, and that such drugs must be used under the advice and
control of a physician. In order for obesity treatment to be successful,
the patient must agree to continue diet therapy and exercise therapy in
addition to drug therapy, and perform regular check-ups.
